Growing Usable.
The last month has been an exciting time for Usable. Between cranking out thousands of lines of code, attending the Thinking Digital conference, and taking on two new employees, we’ve been keeping very busy indeed.
Thinking Digital was a revelation. The three day conference included workshops, a start-up competition, and two days full of incredible talks by passionate and talented speakers. Sadly we didn’t win the competition, but we were over-the-moon to have been one of the six teams chosen to pitch, and we were beaten by the amazing and ambitious Ember Ads and Yossarian Lives!, so we’re not too glum. Feedback from the people we met at the conference was fantastic and very useful. Our product fulfils a need that many people said they were looking for a solution to. We’re extremely positive about the time we spent there.
Back in the office, Usable is growing fast. Over the past month UsableHQ has grown from just two founders to a team of four full-time developers.
Joining Alex and Chris are Phil, an experienced lead developer with a talent for Javascript and asynchronous coding, and Josh, a CompSci student at Newcastle University who brings an all-round knowledge of development in Java, Javascript and mobile platforms. If we can maintain this rate of growth, doubling every month, by March 2015 everyone on Earth will be working with us.
Since joining us the speed of development on Requirements has stepped up another gear so we’re well on the way to letting people take a peek. If you’re interested in having a look pop an email to hello@usablehq.com and say hi.
